Present Tense

Disini saya akan menjelaskan tentang Simple Present. Simple Present tense digunakan untuk membicarakan present time. digunakan untuk facts, general truth dan habitual actions.

(+) S + (is/am/are) + N/Adj/Adv

(-) S + (is/am/are) + not + N/Adj/Adv

(?) (is/am/are) + S + N/Adj/Adv?

contoh:
a. The weather is bright
b. These buildings are across my house
c. Fire is hot

(+) S + V1 + C

(-) S + do/does + not + V1 + C

(?) Do/Does + S + V1 + C?

contoh:
1. Winjor Likes cat very much
2. The children go to school everyday
3. Windi studies at Gunadarma University

NOTE:
1. Simple Present tense tidak benar-benar menggambarkan present actions, melainkan suatu yang permanen atau habitual.
2. Bila menggunakan verb, dalam Present Tense digunakan V1, kecuali untuk orang ke tiga tunggal, verb-nya diakhiri oleh akhiran -s atau -es atau -ies.
3. Untuk Adverb of frequency seperti usually, seldom, dsb, umumnya muncul sesudah to be atau sebelum verb.
4. Time marker yang biasa digunakan ialah: seldom, usually, always, never, often, sometimes, rarely, every....., once/twice/.....a day/ in a week/ a month/ a year/..., etc.
